Like an exclusive first class vacation to a phenomenal designer hotel or spa, this unique cinema transports visitors to a fabulous new dimension. Watch any Oscar-nominated movies still on the bucket list while indulging in an exceptional new luxury theater experience: iPic.
Upon arrival, the opulent concierge-like reception is the first signal of something truly different, followed by original art decor and a hip lounge vibe. Premium plus customers have the choice of dining in one of the restaurants, or ascending immediately to the theater and ordering Tanzy Express gourmet food, wine and handcrafted cocktails from wait staff, while stretching out and watching exceptionally high quality film from comfy reclining leather seats, each with a comfortable terry neck roll and blanket. To be sure, complementary popcorn comes with the package.
Delectable locally sourced Tanzy Express restaurant menus were developed by renowned Chef Sherry Yard, a Wolfgang Puck protégée. Think salmon tartare in Thai chili cones, potato knishes with caramelized onions and braised pork belly or Swiss chard empanadas. Master sommelier Adam Seger has concocted fresh, seasonal cocktails. Tanzy, the iPic signature brand restaurant features a scrumptious Italian menu.
Though iPics are spacious, they have fewer seats allowing for an intimate experience. The Boca Raton location, for example is 43,000 square feet with 436 seats spread over eight theaters, and each special space ready to screen first-run films for an exclusive number of guests, just 44 to 82. A normal theater complex of that size might have 2,000 seats.
IPic plans on rolling out another 21 locations soon and there are 13 exclusive locations now:
California: Westwood-LA, Pasadena
Florida: Boca Raton, N. Miami
Illinois: Bolingbrook, S. Barrington
Maryland: Pike & Rose
Texas: Austin, Fairview, Houston
Estimated prices: non-members pay approximately $14 for Premium, and $24 for Premium Plus. Online reservation and seat selection are easy. What do film lovers say? According to a recent iPic moviegoer: “It was such a luxurious, comfortable, pampering experience that my husband said we’re never going to another movie theater again,” Jennifer Rosemurgy, Realtor-Boca Raton. As for this author, she would like to live there, like Eloise at the Plaza, with or without Skipperdee!
